Finally…a sneek peek at the Vibe!

Vibe cocoonVibe single storm coverPhil & Teds Vibe Buggy in RedVibe doubles kitPhil & Teds Vibe Buggy in BlackSo, we had an “unauthorized” picture of the new Phil & Teds Vibe Buggy up on our blog recently and took it when when asked by the distributor until the “official” images were available.  Well, we got them today and I am working on the new Vibe page for the website but until that is finished I thought I would put up a few pictures for everyone to wet their palates for the expected arrival of the Vibe on March 15th….

The pictures are way too small to be of any use. Hi Marie-  Sorry, I can’t make them any bigger on the blog!  I was up late last night because I just wanted to get them up quickly for people to get a peek while I am working on the page for the website.  I figured small was better than nothing and I also wanted to update everyone with the latest ship date for the Vibe. Just trying to be helpful! Erika

    Hi Erika,

Thanks for responding to my post on the other blog about the Vibe! I am so excited they are “on the water.” I am definitely planning to get the Vibe instead of the new Sport now (I’m due within the month). That said, are you accepting pre-orders? Once you get them in, how long does your shipping process take (I’m in Texas)? Thanks again!

  3. Jill Says:

    Hi Erika,

Thanks for responding to my post on the other Vibe blog. I am so excited they are “on the water” and I am definitely planning to purchase one ASAP. So, to that end, do you offer pre-ordering? Do you expect them in store by March 15th? Also, how long does shipping usually take once you have them in stock? Thanks again for your help!

Can you put a infant car seat on the top when the bottom seat is attached? I really think the phil and ted could be great but i would need to put a car seat in while the older kid (not too heavy) could down below…

Hi Melissa-  Unfortunately, none of the Phil & Teds strollers work in doubles mode when using an infant seat.  You cannot fit an infant seat up top with a rider down below.  You need to recline the main seat pretty far back to fit the infant seat which doesn’t leave room for a rider in the second seat below. That probably wasn’t the answer you were looking for but hope it helps!  Erika

I have been comparing the Vibe to the Sport Buggy, and I think I am leaning toward the Sport. Thank you for such thorough reviews of each–it sure has helped! I have two questions:

1.Can the car seat adaptor bar accessory be used on both the Sport and/or the Vibe?
    2. Can the car seat adaptor bar accessory be used for the infant while a toddler is sitting in the doubles seat?

I noticed in the picture that the front seat is all the way reclined when using the car seat…so I didn’t know if the doubles kit would work with it or not. Thanks!

Hi Jeanette-  Thanks for your post and I’m glad you found the blog helpful!  There is only a infant seat adapter available for the Sport Buggy at this time.  The Vibe will only be compatible with a new Phil & Teds infant seat that should be available late Spring.  The Sport Buggy and Vibe adapter bars are not interchangable.  The adapter bar CANNOT be used with the stroller in doubles mode.  You are correct that the main seat of the stroller needs to be reclined to accommodate the infant seat which does not allow enough room for a rider in the back.  Hope that helps- Erika

  6. Chris Says:

Can the Phil & Teds Sleeping Bag be used with the doubles kit as well? Or does it only work in the front toddler position? Thanks.

Hi Chris-  The sleeping bag can be used for both seats on the Phil & Teds stroller- the main seat and/or the doubles kit.  Hope that helps- Erika

  7. Jeanette Says:

I found out from one of the websites that the Vibe is 1-2 pounds lighter than the Sport…but I can’t seem to find out how much the Sport Buggy weighs. Do you have that info? Thanks!

Hi Jeanette-  According to the distributor, the Sport Buggy weighs 24 lbs. and the Vibe weighs 22 lbs.  Hope that helps- Erika

  8. rose Says:

    Hello
I was wondering if the vibe will be compatible with the sport accessories such as the travel bag and sun cover or if he vibe will have its on accessories that need to be purchased separately?

Hi Rose- The Vibe and Sport Buggy accessories are not interchangable.  The Vibe has its own storm covers, sun covers, travel bag, cocoon, cup holder and food tray.  The Vibe sun and storm covers are already up on our website and we hope to have the other accessories up for ordering soon!  Hope that helps- Erika

  9. Ellie Says:

Hi - I am wondering if the rear seat can ever be reclined? What are my options for using the vibe and/ or sport with a 3.5 year old and a newborn?

Hi Ellie-  Thanks for your post.  You can use either the Phil & Teds Vibe or Sport Buggy with a 3.5 year old and newborn.  For both models, you would start the buggy in newborn/toddler position where you recline the main seat flat for the newborn, and then you attach the double kit up front for your toddler.  Once your newborn is ready to sit up in a seat (between 3-5 months depending on their neck control), you can switch the stroller to toddler/toddler mode.  The doubles kit for both models have a slight recline (not a full recline for a newborn) so the stroller can accommodate a smaller baby sooner.  Keep in mind that if your 3.5 year old is over 33 lbs., they will need to ride up front (in the main seat or in the doubles kit up front) where the weight limit is 50 lbs.  Both strollers are conceptually similar- the Vibe is just a bit more upscale and has more features than the Sport Buggy.  Hope that helps- Erika

  10. sonya Says:

hi there- i have one question does the vibe take the double kit up front like the sport it,s just i cant see any images anywhere that show the vibe in infant toddler mode.  Hi Sonya- Yes, the Vibe functions the same way the Sport Buggy does with the toddler seat up front in infant/toddler mode.  There are just very limited images from the distributor at this point so we don’t have images yet.  Hope that helps- Erika

  11. rose Says:

Has the Vibe started shipping yet? Has anyone seen it? Thanks!

  12. Rachel Says:

We picked up our Vibe from Strollermama today and it is fabulous! The canopy is far better than the e3 we just sold. I loaded up the kids for a quick spin around the driveway (too much snow to go far) and they seemed to love it also.

Thanks for everything Erika and Amy!

Thanks for your post, Rachel!  I’m glad you are enjoying your new Vibe and I look forward to seeing you with it here locally in Cleveland!  Erika

Love this site! I checked out the P&T Vibe yesterday, and I think we’re going to get it (have 14mo and expecting another in 2 weeks!) but I have a couple of questions:

    (1) Will the bar or snack tray fit across the front if the stroller is in the newborn position and the doubles kit is attached up front?

    (2) Can you folder the stroller with the doubles kit attached in the front?

Thank you! Can’t wait to order it! Carol

Hi Carol- I’m so glad you like our site!  Let me answer your questions for you.  First, you cannot use the bumper bar and/or food tray with the doubles kit attached up front.  The groove where you attach the double kit is the same groove that you attach the bumper bar and/or food tray so it has to be one or the other.  Second, you can fold the Vibe with the doubles kit attached up front.  I personally still think it is a more compact fold to just pop it off but you can fold it with the doubles kit attached.  Hope that helps and best of luck with the new baby!  Erika

  16. Jennifer Says:

Can you tell me the difference between the rain cover that comes with the Vibe and storm cover that’s sold separately? Is the storm cover needed if I’m using the Vibe in singles mode?  Thanks.  Hi Jen- The Vibe does not come standard with a storm cover so you would need to purchase the single storm cover as a separate accessory.  Hope that helps- Erika

  17. Elizabeth Says:

Hi there, I just recieved my Vibe a few days ago and am having real issues!!

I cannot get it to stay closed when folded– how do you do it. It looks like in the instructions that the things should fold down just like when you lock it in the open position, but mine do not fold down.

Also my back wheels won’t stay locked on, they come right off. While walking the front swivel sometimes starts wobbling really bad too….

Oh yes, and on the sunshade– what is the zipper side for? What does it zip to? Is the zipper side supposed to be down?

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

    Hi Elizabeth-
Sounds like you are having a few issues.  I’ll see if I can hep you out.  The secret to locking the Vibe closed is that the handlebar needs to be in the most upright position.  It is only then that you will be able to close the side hinges.  If you rear wheels don’t feel like they are staying on I would first make sure that your mud flaps are attached all the way (did you click them over the bottom of the axel) and then I would try to switch the axel pins between the two rear wheels.  The zipper in the sunshade is for the single sun cover- it zips right into the canopy and attaches at the footplate.  The zipper side is supposed to be down (closer to the kid’s toes).

Best of luck!  Let us know if you have any other questions.
    Take care-
    Amy

  18. Caroline Says:

I’m considering ordering the double sunshade for the Vibe, but wondering how it attaches. Does it zip to the visor? If the double sunshade is on, can the front toddler get out easily, or do you have to take the shade off the entire buggy? Thanks!

Hi Caroline- Only the Vibe single sunshade zips into the visor.  If you use the Vibe double sunshade, you would not need to take the entire sunshade off for a toddler to get out.  It is a bit “burka-ish” and enclosed, but it would not be hard for them to get out.  Hope that helps- Erika

  19. Karleen Says:

    Hi there,

Is there any update news regarding when the matching car seat and adapter kit for the vibe will be ready to order? My baby is due Sep 18 2008 and I am just not sure if I have enough time to wait for this item.

    Thank you - Karleen

Hi Karleen-  We just got back from Phil & Teds University and there were no updates on any dates for the new Phil & Teds car seat.  I think they are hoping to get it out by fall but I personally would have to guess that it won’t make it in time for your baby.  Feel free to check back with us!  Erika

We got our Vibe yesterday and we are very happy with it. I did a lot of research and believe this is the best stroller on the market.
There are a few important things to note however, since the manual is useless.
    1. As mentioned above, the wheel covers must be clipped-in properly otherwise the wheels won’t go on easy, and they will touch the covers affecting the steering and make a noise. After sliding the covers into place you have to push in at the bottom to clip them into place.
    2. You should only lock the folding mechanism with the front wheel removed. I confirmed this with P&T. The latches will break. This is because it can’t fold completely flat with the front wheel in place. The handlebar needn’t be in the top position.
    3. The handle-bar is most comfortable in the highest position and then the brake button is also more out of the way.

Also good to know is that the Graco SafeSeat Infant Car Seat fits perfectly on the grab bar, no special attachment required! We removed the soft cover from the bar to prevent it from being damaged.
    This really works very well.
I can post some pictures if you want.
    Enjoy!

Hi and thanks for your feedback!  I am glad you are enjoying your Vibe.  You are absolutely right about the wheel guards for the Vibe.  In order for them to be properly attached, you need to slide them down and click and then inward and click.  Some of our parents miss the inward click part of the process.

I’m not sure if I understand your advice about the removing the front wheel to fold flat.  The Vibe can definitely be folded flat (even with the doubles kit attached in back) without removing any wheels.  When folding the Vibe, the handlebar should be in the highest position.  That allows the front wheel to lie flush up against it when folded.  Once you do that, you can fold the Vibe with the front wheel on (J-bar facing out) and lock the stroller with the two latches without any problem.

I’d also like to add that the distributor (Regal Lager) and StrollerMama do not recommend using an infnat car seat with the Vibe - especially without a safety tested adapter.  The stroller was not safety tested for that and it could be unsafe for a baby.

    We appreciate your feedback!  Erika

  21. Jen Says:

Hi. Will P&T be coming out with winter accessories for the Vibe (e.g. a footmuff)?

I also wanted to let you know that the distributor is terrific — I managed to break my vibe cupholder within minutes of attaching it. StrollerMama helpfully put me in touch with the distributor who promptly replaced the cupholder and was incredibly responsive. Great customer service from all. Thank you!
