The wait goes on for the Phil & Teds Vibe…..

It was supposed to be here in January, but the latest from Regal Lager is mid-March for the new Vibe.  So, for all of you waiting for it, just keep this in mind since in the land of newly released strollers, all things are often delayed!  If you can’t wait, definitely go for the Sport Buggy (maybe in the new Pink Camo!)  We’ll keep you posted!

I’m itching for this stroller! Is there any way to be sure that it will be available in March? I’m leaving the country then and I really don’t want to settle for the Sport:( Hi Tziri- We actually just met with our Regal Lager rep yesterday and he reconfirmed the March 15th ship date.  You are going to be cutting it very close and they are notorious for delays.  I would just stay in touch with us as we get closer.  We should have preordering for the Vibe up on our website before it is available.  Thanks- Erika

Hi - we have a 13 month old and a 4 week old. it was rumored that the VIBE might work with an infant car seat. Do you know if that is true? Hi Mardi- All of the Phil & Teds single strollers work with an infant seat (classic, sport, dash and vibe).  However, NONE of the models will take an infant seat while used in doubles mode with the doubles kit on.  The main seat of the stroller needs to reclined to fit the infant seat and then there is not enough room in the back for a second rider.  If you want to use the stroller as a single stroller, all four versions (including the Sport which is available now) can take an adapter bar for an infant seat.  Hope that helps- Erika

  3. Jennifer Robertson Says:

Hi - does the Vibe take the same car seat adapter that you would buy to fit onto the Sport? I was told by one supplier that Phil & Ted had yet to make one of these in their accessories range for the Vibe. thanks Jennifer Hi Jennifer- The infant seat adapter for the Sport Buggy is NOT compatible with the Vibe.  At the present time, the only infant seat that will work with the Vibe is the new Phil & Teds infant seat which is coming sometime this spring.  They are trying to market their own carseat so the Vibe will not take any other infant seats for the near future.  Let me know if you have any other questions!  Thanks- Erika

  4. Jacqueline Says:

Hi- i’m due in early april, my husband and i were about to purchase the phil and ted sport when i saw the news about the vibe. does it have to be pre-ordered? we have a 19 month, will the new vibe work just like the sport in double mode with the toddler on top and the infant in the bottom? does the new vibe come with any accessories like the rain gear or are they all still going to be sold separately? Are the accessories going to be available when the stroller debuts? Thanks Jacqueline!

Hi Jacqueline- The Vibe conceptually will be the same as the Sport Buggy.  The seating positions will be the same.  The big advantages to the Vibe are the ability to fold the stroller with the doubles kit attached in the rear position and it is lighterweight.  All of the Vibe accessories are a la carte just like the Sport Buggy.  The storm covers, sun covers, cocoon and travel bag will be available for the launch and the other accessories like the cup holder and food tray will be available sometime in April (we hope!)  Hope that helps- Erika

  5. Kasia Says:

    Hi Erika,
Will it be possible to use the sport modell’s accessories wit the vibe (side bags, rain or sun cover) or does it require it’s own set? Some sites write that it’s also possible to fold it with the doubles kit attached at the front possition, is it true? And one more thing - the only picture to be found in the internet is with the doubles kit in the back and I think that the back part looks a bit short, is it only me or is it really not as high as in the sport modell? Thank you :)

Hi Kasia- Thanks for your post.  We still don’t have the Vibe in stock yet (hope to have them in this week) so I can’t answer your questions that well since I haven’t had much hands on experience with the stroller yet.  Most of the Phil & Teds accessories are specific to the type of stroller.  The Vibe sun cover, storm cover, cup holder, food tray and travel bag are exclusive to the Vibe and won’t work with the Sport Buggy (and vice versa).  The pannier bags and hangbags are universal to the Phil & Teds strollers so you can use them with the Vibe and Sport Buggy.

On the Sport Buggy, you can fold the stroller with the doubles kit in the front position only.  On the Vibe, you can fold the stroller with the doubles kit in the front position or the rear position.

I think the seat back should be the same height on the Vibe as the Sport Buggy but, again, we don’t have anything except the same pictures you are looking at to give exact dimensions.  But, I think the seat back is just as high as the Sport if I remember correctly.  We’ll have a better sense of everything this week.  Hope that helps- Erika

  6. iciar Says:

Is it possible to use the doubles seat with lazyted to convert it into a bouncer? If not, do you know if there is going to be a version of lazyted for the Vibe? Thank you! Hi Iciar- The Lazy Ted is not compatible with the Vibe and at this time, there are no plans, according to the distributor, to make a Lazy Ted for the Vibe.  Hope that helps- Erika

  7. Kasia Says:

    Hi Erika,
Thank you for your reply :)
I have one more question, just to make sure. The only pics of the new vibe are with the doubles kit in the rear possition and I have just heard that it cannot be put in front? Could this be true? I do not think so but again - noone has seen it yet ;)

  8. Claire Says:

When are the vibes expected, I have heard May now !!!

The Vibes are here!  We are already on our second big shipment and both the red and black are currently available.  Hope that helps- Erika

  9. Claire Says:

    Hi There,

Just wondering if the cocoon that is available for the sport will fit the new vibe as smeone has informed me it fits but doesn’t attach. making it unsafe. Please could you tell me if this is this the case?
    Thanks Claire

Hi Claire-  I haven’t tried putting a Sport Buggy cocoon in the Vibe but I would definitely recommend getting the Vibe cocoon instead.  It is designed specifically for the Vibe (and is the same price).  Hope that helps- Erika

  10. Michelle Says:

Hi Erika, sounds like I found the right site with someone who knows about the new VIBE! I don’t own a Phil & Teds yet and was waiting for the release of the VIBE. I have a 7 week old and a 22 month old…I was disappointed to read that it is not possible to use the infant seat in the double. But if the revews are still as great as they say…I may still consider purchasing it. What colors are available at this time? What is the price of the VIBE with the double kit?

Hi Michelle- I’m glad StrollerMama was helpful with your Phil & Teds research!  You should know that none of the Phil & Teds strollers will take an infant seat with a second rider in the back- not just the Vibe.  The infant seat adapter bar can only be used when the stroller is being used as a single.

The Vibe is currently available in black and red (black with red).  The price of the Vibe Buggy with doubles kit is $709.90 and we offer free shipping on it with no sales tax outside of Ohio.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.  Thanks- Erika

  11. Shari Says:

When using the bassinet mode, what do you do with the seatbelt- do you strap a newborn in or is there a way to remove if the baby is swaddled? Also, are there any diaper bag accessories to go with the Vibe?

Hi Shari-  You can use the seat belt in the bassinet mode but I think many parents just swaddle their newborns and put them back there.  Lots of our parents get the cocoon which is a wonderful way to have the newborn in the bassinet area.  As of now, there are no specific diaper bag accessories to go with the Vibe.  Hope that helps- Erika

  12. Shari Says:

Another question- I’ve read that the Vibe double seat sticks out further when in the bottom position than the Sport, interfering with mommy’s legroom when walking. Have you noticed this?

Hi Shari-  I have not heard this from our parents and I don’t really notice that when I put the two models side by side.  Some parents have told us they have had the doubles kit on the Sport interfere with their stride but the majority of our parents haven’t had any issues.  The Vibe is still pretty new so we are just starting to get feedback about it.  Hope that helps- Erika

  13. Cathy Says:

I noticed when I have the seat in the bassinet position the strap goes across where you put the baby in. Is there a way to remove that? It seems like it will be hard to get the baby in with that there.

I also have found the break on the handle bar extremely dangerous. I can’t tell you how many times my hand passes over the red button and the whole stroller stops in place. It is very dangerous when your are strolling fast. I also have a hard time holding onto the handle bar in the tallest position b/c the sun canopy is the in way. Is there a way to fix this? I thought they would have made this version perfect!

Hi Cathy- Thanks for your feedback.  The Vibe, as you know, is a brand new stoller to the market.  Sometimes, when a brand new product hits the market, they still have to work out some kinks once it is released.  We have heard from several parents your same complaint about the hand brake.  The distibutor is aware of the problem and I think they are looking into a way to remedy that in the future.

Regarding the seat buckle on the main seat in bassinet mode, the straps do not come off.  They are there so you can use them in newborn mode.  You can also use the cocoon or swaddle the baby.  I have not heard from any parents that the straps have interfered in this position.

You can move the sun canopy down lower on the frame if it is blocking your view.  I thought the same thing when I tried the Vibe until I learned that you can lower the canopy by moving it down on the frame.

Overall, our response to the Vibe has been very positive.  There have been a few kinks in its debut but most of our parents are very happy.  Hope that helps- Erika

  14. Megan Says:

Thanks for all your helpful information! I received my Vibe this week, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to fold it with the doubles seat in either position. Do you know of an online tutorial?  Hi Megan- Folding the Vibe takes some practice but you will get it!  Amy and I actually just filmed three days of stroller videos a few weeks ago (including the Vibe) and our web guy is in the process of getting everything up on the site.  We hope to have them up in the next several weeks.  If you are still having issues in the meantime, give us a call at (866) 293-5642 and we can try to walk you through it.  Thanks- Erika

  15. Jennifer Vanderburg Says:

Hi. I saw the vibe in person today and the only MAJOR drawback is its hard to hang a diaper bag from the handles as it hits the baby’s head in the back seat. And, to put a diaper bag under the storage basket feels really hard to get to w/ infant in back seat. Any suggestions?

Hi Jenny- You have found the current flaw with the Vibe.  There is no storage when you use the stroller in doubles mode.  You can use the pannier bags for storage on the Sport Buggy but they cannot attach to the frame of the Vibe.  The distibutor is aware of this issue and they are trying to design pannier bags for the Vibe for storage.  In the meantime, if you want the Vibe, you need to hang your diaper bag off of you!  Hope that helps- Erika

    Hi !
Have I understood it right ~ You can NOT have one child in the double kit seat in the REAR/BOTTOM position and at the same time use a carseat on top on the adaptor bar ~ not on the sports model OR the Vibe ?
I have a Graco carseat and I would LOVE to be able to use it at the samt time as I have my older child at “the bottom” , but I have understood it is not possible ( interested in the VIBE model ) this can really be a “deciding” thing for me, wheather to buy it or not, unfortunately…

Oh, and have you had any complaints about the fabric on the Vibe, someone told me it looked “too delicate” and could easily get “warped” or something….

And third, when I looked at the Vibe yesterday in a store, my now 15 month ( average length) already had the top of her head hitting the bar ( I wished it wasn’t there..) in the extra seat, I saw that the sports model did not have that bar, how are they supposed to be sitting ther comfortably with that bar hitting them…? A lot of things to think about before I hit the “Enter” button for buying… =)
    Thanks !

Hi Camilla-  Let me answer your questions for you.  First, you cannot use the infant seat adapter and the doubles kit at the same time for any of the the Phil & Teds models.  It is a safety issue where the heavier child cannot be in the back seat and it is not approved by Phil & Teds.  Remember, though, you can lie your newborn flat in the Vibe in newborn/toddler position.  It is wonderful for the baby to be flat, out of the car seat and maybe in a super cozy cocoon!  Second, we have not had any complaints on the Vibe fabric.  It seems very hearty to me and I can’t see it being an issue.  Third, for the doubles kits, you need to make sure the seat is not reclined.  The doubles kits on both strollers are the same size- the only real difference is that the Vibe doubles kit has the bar covered with fabric.  I hope that helps!  Erika

  17. Maru Says:

    Hello,

I had two questions about this stroller:

    1. Cocoon: Can this be used as a basinett to have the baby sleep there for the first month or so? I was looking at bugaboo because they have a nice basinet but I don’t like anything else about the stroller, so this one would be great if I can use the cocoon for that.

    2. Car seat: On the Phil and Teds site they have a Car seat called bebe v for the vibe but I can’t find it anywhere to buy it. Do you know if they’ll have it available in the US anytime soon?

    3. Can any other car seat be used and attached to the Vibe?

    Thanks
    Maria

Hi Maria-  Let me answer your questions for you.  First, I would not use the cocoon as a stand alone bassinet.  While it does have side support, it is designed to be in the stroller and outside of the stroller it would not be a permanent sleeping solution for a newborn.  Great for little snoozes, but not every night.  Second, the Phil & Teds infant seat is in the works (it is available in other countries now), but it is still going through production and safety testing for the U.S.  We hope to see it in the fall.  Third, for now- the only car seat that will be compatible with the Vibe is the Phil & Teds car seat.  I do think that will eventually change and I expect to see adapters for other car seats similar to the ones for the Sport Buggy.  Hope that helps- Erika

  18. Avigale Says:

Dear Erika, Thank you for the info on the vibe I’ve read. I’ve gotten conflicting info regarding any travel system to accommodate infant seats for the vibe, but called Regal Lager regarding such. They said that only the vibe infant seat can be used, but that it is not coming out until the end of the year!! Do you know of any other phil & ted’s infant seats that can be used with the vibe so that I can get it now (my 3rd is due next month!)? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Avigale- Unfortunately, the information that Regal Lager gave you was right.  The Vibe will only be compatible with the yet to be released Phil & Teds infant carrier which definitely won’t make it in time for your third (I have three, too!) So for now, if you want to use an infant seat, the Vibe won’t work for you.  You could get the Sport Buggy but also keep in mind that if you want to use an infant seat with a Phil & Teds stroller, it cannot be used as a double.  Give us a call or shoot us an email if you want more information.  Best of luck with your third :)   Erika
