The Quinny Buzz is HOT!

So, by now you know that Amy and I get very excited about new strollers when they debut so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the new QUINNY BUZZ.  There was lots of buzz (pun intended!) about this one.  It has been very popular in Europe and Canada for sometime and Dorel decided it was time to bring it here to the U.S.  According to US Weekly, it also has fans in Rachel Weisz and Jennifer Garner so I knew it was time to test it out myself.

So far, it has lived up to it’s expectations.  It is priced reasonably (compared to it’s biggest competitor) at $688 fully loaded ($499 without the Dreami bassinet).  It comes complete with a raincover, windcover, bug net, bumper bar and underseat basket (and a free Diapees & Wipees from us!)

The Buzz has the most uniquely designed frame I’ve seen.  It is streamlined and sleek.  The seat is wonderfully soft.  I wasn’t sure how the neoprene fabric would feel but it is incredibly plush and comfortable for my six month old daughter.  I was also weary about how the seat would wear since my daughter is what they call a “spitty” baby (and that’s putting it mildly….).  As soon as I put it together I put her in it and not less than 30 seconds later she spit up all over it!  I rushed to get her out to wipe it down and when I looked all of the liquid had beaded up and was not absorbing into the seat.  It was wonderful and a breeze to clean up!  This is important for my family!

The other super cool feature of the Buzz is its automatic gas-spring unfold mechanism.  The stroller literally unfolds itself and I’m not kidding!  We’ll have a video of the unfold up very soon so you can see it for yourself.  Once the stroller is folded, all you need to do it tap under the handlebar and the whole frame literally comes up and then locks into position.  My husband and my kids think it is a spaceship (which is a good thing, I think…)  The stroller can also be folded with the seat attached (in the forward facing position) which is also a nice feature.

The seat is reversible and comes with a removable sun canopy.  The telescopic handlebar adjusts with the touch of a button is is very well suited for short and tall parents alike.  The underseat basket is a bit small compared to others but at least the stroller now comes with it standard (for the European model, the basket was an additional accessory to be purchased separately).

The coordinating Dreami bassinet is one of the nicest I’ve seen on the market.  It is plush and wonderful for a newborn.  It comes with a rain cover, bug net, washable mattress liner and matching fleece blanket.  The colors are bright and vibrant and coordinate perfectly with the stroller.  It is easy to attach to the frame- it just clicks in and out.

The Buzz is also compatible with the new Maxi Cosi Mico infant seat which should be available August 15th.  The adapter to fit the infant seat are included with the Buzz.  The Maxi Cosi is the leading infant seat in Europe and will surely make a big splash here in the U.S. market.  It will be available in five colors that also coordinate with the Quinny strollers.  They will sell for $149.

The Buzz is a perfect stroller for parents looking for an all-terrain stroller with a reversible seat and high styling.  It handled our bumpy, uneven Shaker Heights sidewalks very well and got lots of oohs and aahs when we walked by!  We think it is great choice!

Hello! I am trying to decide between the Quinny Buzz, Rock Star Baby, and possibly the Bugaboo Bee (which I have heard some bad things about.. the ‘wings’, and the fact that most cant fit their 2 and 1/2 year olds in it..) I LOVE the way the Quinny looks! Is it suitable for newborns without the Dreami bassinet? Also, what is the weight limit, and what does it look like with the canopy on it? Sorry I have so many questions.. I am a soon to be ‘first time mom’ :)
Thanks for ALL the help!! Hi Stephanie- All three strollers that you mention are actually quite different.  The RSB stroller and the Quinny Buzz are more similar to the Bugaboo Cameleon or Frog than the Bee.  Have you considered them?  The seat on the Quinny Buzz is suitable from birth but remember that it will have a bit of a dip in the seat because it is a seat that moves on the chassis versus a seat that has a back that reclines.  If you can swing the Dreami, I think it is totally worth the money plus more comfortable for a newborn.  It is actually my favorite bassinet on the market right now because it is just so plush!  Also, you could get the Maxi Cosi Mico infant seat and use that with the Quinny Buzz (or the RSB stroller with the new universal adapter bar).  The weight limit on the Buzz is 40 lbs.  We need some updated pictures of the Buzz to add to our site but if you look around some other sites you should be able to find some.  The canopy is less generous than the Bugaboo and about on par with the RSB stroller.  Feel free to email us at info@strollermama.com with more questions!  Thanks, Stephanie! Is there a way to reverse the handlebar so the big wheels go in the front? Or is the seat only reversible by taking it off of the frame to turn it around? if the latter is the case, my next question is if the bugaboo is the only stroller that can lead with the big wheels and flip the handle (not moving the seat around). thanks so much! nicole  Hi Nicole- The handlebar on the Quinny Buzz does not reverse like on the Bugaboo to allow the big wheels to be in front.  As far as I know, the Bugaboo is the only stroller can lead with the big wheels in front by reversing the handlebars (you cannot do it with the RSB, Quinny Buzz, Uppa Baby Vista, or Valco RAD).  Hope that helps- Erika

Hi, I am looking for a high end stroller, mainly one that will allow the seat to face outward as well as inward, easy to fold, as light weight as possible, and with as many add-ons as possible, also (and this is imperative) comfortable for baby. I am looking at the I’coo and the quinny… of the two, which one would you recommend, and why?

Hi Valentina-  Thanks for your post.  The Quinny Buzz and I’coo Targo are both excellent upscale strollers and they both have some pros and cons.  The Buzz is very modern looking and has a nice, plush neopreen seat in vibrant colors.  The Dreami (optional Buzz accessory) is one of the nicest bassinets on the market, in my opinion.  Some cons to the Quinny are that it only takes the Maxi Cosi Mico (only a con if you are interested in another infant seat), the seat is on the smaller side and the storage basket is small.  The I’coo Targo (which we will be getting stock any day now) looks to be incredibly promising.  The colors are a bit more neutral, it is slightly lighterweight and comes with a universal car seat adapter.  It also has a nice feature where you can elevate and lower the seat or bassinet.  Functionally, they are very similar.  If you have more specific questions, please contact us directly at info@strollermama.com so we can do a personalized stroller consulation for you.  Hope that helps- Erika

    Hi.

I just can’t decide between the Buzz and the Frog. Both seem great. I was really excited to get a non-Bugaboo stroller just so we don’t have the same thing as everyone else on the block. That said, maybe there’s a reason why everyone has it. Is the ride as smooth on the Buzz? Is it bigger thus harder to get in and out of stores? Does it truly fold to a more compact size than the Frog? I take it the opening and closing is easier on the Buzz.

Thanks for any advice you have on this decision about which I shouldn’t be SO perplexed!  Jill

Hi Jill- Thanks for your post.  Picking the right stroller can be tricky!  I have the Bugaboo Cameleon and the Quinny Buzz so I’ve used both.  I think there are pros and cons to both.  The Cameleon is lighter (and the Frog is even a bit lighter than the Cameleon) and has a smaller footprint.  It has a much better canopy and a bigger seat than the Buzz.  However, you do need to take the seat off to fold it whereas the Buzz can fold with the seat on forward facing.  That can be annoying but I usually forget that annoying part once I’m using my Bugaboo because I love it.   If I really had to choose one, it would be a tough choice.  My husband definitely prefers the Bugaboo, but for me it is a tough call!  Let me know if you have more questions!
